No creating this weekend

Didn't get a chance to work on anything this weekend, but that's because I spent all day Saturday and some of Sunday moving furniture around and cleaning. We are getting ready to do some minor construction and replace our flooring. This is a LONG time in the coming, so I'm actually enjoying the hard work. My muscles might not be too keen on it, but I'm liking it. I am hopeful we'll have everything in place by the holidays and get to host Christmas dinner, or at least a Christmas Eve get together, at our place.

Year of Flowers pink roses card

Made this card in answer to a challenge on the Gina K Designs forum for their "land cruise" party Wednesday evening. We had to use chipboard on a card. I chose the MME Bohemia embossed chipboard; inked it with Brilliance Platnium Planet and stamped a quote from the SU stamp set "Dream Big." My main image is from the lovely set by Melanie Muenchinger with Gina K Designs, Year of Flowers. I embossed the roses in silver Ranger Superfine EP and colored in with colored pencils. Dry embossed the green panel with the Cuttlebug and painted Shimmerz over the raised portions. Added some silver ribbon and pink rhinestones, and the base is a pink shimmer card stock by DCWV.

Teachabella used for Boss' Day card

I created this card for my boss for Boss' Day. I used Stampingbella's Teachabella, but didn't ink the apple on her desk or the blackboard behind her. I think she serves as a decent little office worker...what do you think? My boss likes blue and brown (smart lady... one of my fave combos), so I dipped into an old favorite pp, Rusty Pickle Chocolate Bunnies. Pierced around the scallops of a Nestabilities scalloped circle, a little ribbon and some brads. And that brown cardstock is my all-time favorite color-SU's Chocolate Chip. I bought a whole pack of 8.5x11 because I found I was constantly using it in my cards.

On starting a blog

My gallery on scrapbook.com is getting a bit of meat to it now, so I thought I would start a blog to showcase my humble creations.  Scrapbooking will always be my first love, but I have been enjoying making cards over the last few months.  Such a smaller palette, something I can finish in an evening.  I hope you find some inspiration and enjoy at least a few of my creations.  Thank you so much for joining me and taking a little of your time to look, or better yet, post a comment.
